Healthy Fat

You need to believe that fat is healthy!

For years we have been programmed that “you are what you eat” and that fat makes us fat.

However, that is not actually a fact. Fat is a very important part of a balanced healthy diet and we need to make sure we get some every day.

The misinformation on the evils of fat has resulted in food companies offering “fat free” options of our favorite foods.  The problem is, that if you take out the fat…the food doesn’t taste all that great. So what did they do to fix this? They added sugar! Make sure you read up about the harm that sugar is causing our society on my How Much Sugar Is Ok blog.

In the spirit of supporting other people that are doing their part to spread the word on the changing attitudes towards fat and alternate ways to nourish our bodies, check out this video from What I Have Learned on The Story of Fat: Why We Were Wrong About Health.

Remember that you can’t eat high amounts of fat AND high amounts of carbs!! (Wouldn’t that be nice.) If you chose a high fat diet, you have to limit your carbs. If you chose a high carb diet, make sure you are not over eating fats. Yes, proper balance.
